Ever since we moved to the shore of Cowichan Bay we have marveled at the ever changing light conditions on the water. No matter what the weather is like there is always something different to look at across the expanse of the bay, the marshes and the Cowichan River.
Until our move I always thought birds slept at night, the same as people, I was wrong and the activity, especially on a clear night, during the salmon run, rivals the day. It took a while to get used to the screeching seagulls, the honk of the trumpeters or the raucous call of the heron at two in the morning.
